Bart- I was just wondering where in your bible does it say it's alright to call us fags? I can't seem to find that passage in my bible. And i hate to point this out but it's always the most bigoted guys that are nothing more than self loathing homosexuals themselves. Maybe you should worry more about how you live your life than about how I live mine.

this is 2008...people don't use terms like "fags" anymore. take your 4th grade education back to school and learn a little more about the issues.

While you say that California is the armpit of the United States, do you think that your state is so grand? Honestly, I am a gay man and I do NOT care about marrying my significant other. My flack with the whole issues lies in the fact that there are same sex couples who have devoted 30, 40, even 50 years to one another and they one ask the same equality as their heterosexual counterparts. Is that such a base desire to want equal rights? AND as far as these religious zealots and whoever else wants to join their bandwagon, I will say this: I chose to be gay the same day you chose to be straight, plain and simple. "Lifestyle", "choice", "preference" are not the words of which to label another individual's life.
When Americans as a whole will stop evaluating everyone else's lives and begin to evaluate their own, perhaps we can take another step forward to looking more like the "United" States rather than the "dis-United" States. If a same sex marriage or a civil union doesn't involve YOU as a concerned party, then get out of the way and allow others the right to be happy.
And for those who want to drag out their bibles and thump others over the head, how about reading a little further in the book of John 8:7? "So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone." Or how about Matthew 7:1 "Judge not that ye be not judged." Or perhaps a little further in Romans 2:1 "Therefore you have no excuse, everyone of you who passes judgment, for in that which you judge another, you condemn yourself; for you who judge practice the same things." And as far as one individual having to give a recollection of their OWN life to another individual, read Proverbs 26:4 "Answer not a fool according to his folly, lest thou also be like unto him."
In this case, "I" may be a fool for answering to another man in his "folly", but perhaps you will close your mouth and open your ears and be somewhat wiser before you begin to speak; then again, perhaps not. Either way, it is NOT your decision to rule what may or may not occur in another individual's life.
